Psalm 34:18 “K.J.V”
The Lord is nigh them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
We all know what a broken heart is, and what it feel like, but a contrite spirit is a spirit that’s chastened, humble, remorseful, repentant and sorrowful. Being a broken vessel does not mean that God has left us to deal with our brokenness alone, because the book of Psalm chapter 34 verse 18 tells us that our Lord is nigh them that are of a broken heart; meaning God is right there with us, watching and waiting to see if we will react according to the hurt and pain in which we feel, or if we will act in chastity, humility, remorse, repentance and sorrow…
If you haven’t experienced brokenness within your heart or your life yet, just continue to live. Brokenness is inevitable in this life, but God allows the situations that cause the brokenness, not to destroy us, but rather to keep us grounded in Him. So when brokenness comes to visit you, remember, it’s just a setup. Know that God is right there in the midst willing to lend His strength so that we are able to, not react to the pain of being broken, but rather act in chastity, humility, remorse, repentance and sorrow. It is this contrite spirit within that will move God to save us out of the pain of our brokenness
So to sum it all up; when we exercise that contrite spirit that dwells within, our brokenness is just a setup for God’s glory to be revealed.
